Some weddings find you. This was one of them.
Kristina and William reached out just a few weeks before their wedding day — a last-minute call that, as it turned out, we happened to be free for and already in the area. We didn’t know what to expect. But the moment we saw them arrive at their welcome dinner — effortlessly stylish, completely magnetic — we knew. This one was going to be something special.
Kristina is Filipina, William is Italian-American, and their story started the way the best ones often do — completely by accident. They first met working retail at the same mall in New Jersey, different stores, just a few steps apart, crossing paths until something clicked. William proposed on the island of Siargao in the Philippines in July 2023 — one of their favourite places in the world. Getting married in Italy felt like the natural next chapter: a celebration of both of their cultures, in the country Kristina had dreamed of since she was a little girl.
The venue came by way of a recommendation from a friend — and it was love at first sight. Nestled in the Tuscan hills, Country Relais Le Capanne has the kind of charm that does the decorating for you. Kristina and William leaned into that completely. The aesthetic was minimal and ethereal, allowing the venue’s natural Italian character to breathe and speak for itself. No over-the-top florals, no excess — just pure, considered elegance. And yet the style was absolutely palpable. Everyone in the room had understood the assignment.
The flower arch by Flo Bloom Lab was a breathtaking centrepiece — framing the Tuscan views so beautifully it felt almost painted.
Kristina’s style vision began with her gown — and everything else followed from there. In one of the most personal details of the entire day, her baby sister Kayla Santos designed and created the dress from scratch. Timeless, chic, and deeply meaningful, it set the tone for a wedding that felt both elevated and intimate. Hair by Romina Gurrera and makeup by Kimi Duncan — her close friend — completed a bridal look that was nothing short of stunning.
In true Italian fashion, the wedding cake wasn’t just served — it was assembled. The millefoglie, built in front of all their guests in a traditional Italian ceremony, became the standout moment of the day. Spontaneous, joyful, and completely unscripted, it was the kind of moment that reminds you what weddings are really about.
The rest of the evening unfolded with the same effortless energy, with music by Paolo Fabbri keeping the dance floor alive long into the Tuscan night.
Kristina and William’s wedding has been featured in La Lista and Carats & Cake — two of the world’s most respected luxury wedding publications.
What struck us most about this day wasn’t any single detail — it was the feeling. The connection between Kristina, William, and every single person they chose to share this day with. The way serendipity brought us all together. The way simplicity, when done with real intention, can be the most powerful statement of all.
