As a wedding photographer, it’s always a privilege to capture moments that define a couple’s love story, and Fanny and Jacopo’s wedding in Noto, Sicily, was one such unforgettable day. Set against the stunning backdrop of Borgo Alveria, with the timeless beauty of the Sicilian landscape, this celebration combined simplicity, elegance, and the romance of southern Italy.
For Fanny and Jacopo, capturing authentic moments was key. My approach, which blends documentary-style photography with gentle guidance, allowed the couple to be comfortable and fully immersed in their special day. One of the highlights was the couple’s intimate moments in the main square of Noto, where the grandeur of the historic architecture provided a magnificent backdrop for their portraits.
But the magic didn’t end there. As the day progressed, a golden sunset lit up the evening sky, casting a warm, glowing hue over the ceremony and celebrations. That incredible light made every photo seem like it had been bathed in liquid gold—a true Sicilian sunset that added an ethereal quality to the images.
The venue, Borgo Alveria, was a perfect choice for Fanny and Jacopo’s wedding. Its rustic charm, historic architecture, and natural surroundings embodied the heart of Sicily. The venue, with its old-world feel, didn’t need much decor as its character was already enough. The minimalistic decorations—simple yet elegant—complemented the venue perfectly.
Fanny and Jacopo shared a deep connection to Noto, having spent meaningful time there before their wedding. For them, it was more than just a venue; it was their special place, full of memories that made their wedding day even more poignant.
The wedding ceremony itself was an intimate affair, filled with emotion and surrounded by the closest of friends and family. Every detail, from Fanny’s delicate veil flowing in the breeze to Jacopo’s nervous smile as he awaited his bride, was captured in its purest form. One of the most moving moments was their exit from the ceremony. As they walked hand-in-hand, their faces lit up with joy and excitement, surrounded by the cheers and love of their guests.
After the ceremony, we took time to explore the main square of Noto, known for its beautiful Baroque architecture. The couple’s portraits here were some of my favorite shots of the day. The grandeur of the square, paired with Fanny and Jacopo’s natural chemistry, made for breathtaking images. The soft light of the late afternoon bathed the scene in warmth, creating timeless photographs they will treasure forever.
As the evening approached, the Sicilian sky put on a show. The sunset was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, painting the sky and landscape in shades of gold and amber. This natural lighting was a gift for me as a photographer. The softness of the golden hour enhanced the romantic atmosphere, and each shot during this time turned out to be truly magical.
Credit for the seamless flow of the day goes to Dazzled Events, the wedding planners who worked tirelessly to bring Fanny and Jacopo’s vision to life. Their understated yet refined approach to the decor aligned perfectly with the natural beauty of Borgo Alveria. The minimalistic setup allowed the venue’s rustic charm to shine through while still creating an intimate, warm atmosphere.
For me, wedding photography is all about storytelling—capturing those fleeting moments that couples can look back on for years to come. From Fanny and Jacopo’s first moments as husband and wife to their quiet reflections during sunset, every shot tells part of their story. It was a joy to be part of their journey and document their love in such a stunning setting.
